Saturday, June 19th - 2010 Summer Celebration at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack & Casino. Escape to the cool pines of Ruidoso for this 1 day event on June 19th. The Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Ruidoso Downs Race Track for this outdoor festival which will include horse racing, live music, assorted vendors with quality food, merchandise, service, theater, dance and arts and crafts. The festival is free to the public all day.  The Summer Celebration hours are 11:00 a.m. -.7 p.m.. Starting at 11:00 a.m. – The Mescalero Drummers and Dancers are opening the festival. With 4 stages, enjoy local favorites Los Mustangs, Cowboy Mafia, Tomas Vigil, dancers, puppets, and many other surprises. Horse racing starts at noon. After the free walk-around festival closes, the evening highlight will be the Latin Rock sounds of Grammy nominated, Del Castillo.  The concert pricing is only $10. Thursday, July 8th - The Temptations in concert at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino at 8:00 p.m. American vocal group, The Temptations, are performing live at Inn of the Mountain Gods!  One of the most successful groups to record for Motown Record's, The Temptations have had a five decade career performing R&B, doo-wop, disco, soul, funk and adult contemporary.  The group has released four Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles, 14 Billboard R&B number-one singles and won three Grammies.  Come hear the distict harmonies of The Temptations with original member, Otis Williams, live on stage!

Tuesday, July 13th - Merle Haggard in concert at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino at 8:00 p.m. Legendary country singer, Merle Haggard, will be performing at Inn of the Mountain Gods!  Known as "the poet of the common man," Merle Haggard is a must see for all American country fans.  An integral part of the outlaw country movement, Merle Haggard has continually released hits and was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame for his song "Okie from Muskogee" in 1997.

Tuesday, August 10th - Josh Turner performs at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino at 8:00 p.m. Soulful country singer, Josh Turner, is performing live on the Inn of the Moutain Gods stage!  Hear all Josh Turner's hits, including "Why Don't We Just Dance."  Josh Turner has been on the Billboard country singles chart 10 times from his four studio albums.  In 2007, Josh Turner was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry by Vince Gill and is the second youngest member, after Carrie Underwood.

Saturday, August 14th - Annual Butterfly Release at White Mountain Meadows Pavilion, off Gavilan Canyon Rd. , near the Hull Rd. intersection. 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  $12 per Monarch Butterfly.  Butterflies will be distributed at 11:00 a.m.  To ensure their safety, all unclaimed butterflies will be released by 12:45 pm. Thursday, August 26th & Friday, August 27th - Rodney Carrington performs at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino at 8:00 p.m. Rodney Carrington is a multitalented comedian, actor, and writer who has recorded eight major record label comedy albums selling over two million copies. Two of these albums have been certified gold by the RIAA. Rodney starred in his own TV sitcom Rodney, which ran for two seasons on ABC. He also co-wrote and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer for My Horses.  According to Pollstar, Rodney was the 4th highest grossing touring comedian in 2009. He regularly performs to sold out crowds across the US and Canada.

Saturday, September 18th Blue Oyster Cult performs at  Ruidoso Downs Racetrack & Casino from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Blue Öyster Cult is an American rock band formed in New York in 1967 and still active in 2010. The group is especially well known for songs including "(Don't Fear) The Reaper", "Astronomy", "Godzilla", "Burnin' for You" and "Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll." Thursday, October 8th - Sunday, October 10th - Cowboy Symposium at Ruidoso Downs Race. Each year, during the second full weekend in October, Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico plays host to the nation's finest cowboy poets, musicians (including the world famous Texas Playboys), chuckwagon cooks, western artists and craftsmen for three days of events, competitions, and workshops. In 1996, the symposium was selected as the Best Cowboy Cultural Event by theNational Cowboy Symposium Association. In addition, the LCCS has been named one of North America's top 100 events by the American Bus Association. This year Asleep at the Wheel headlines the Thursday night concert. Western Swing is still the King -- and nowhere is that more evident than our Friday and Saturday night dances. The dances will feature, Leon Rausch, The Texas Playboys and Tommy Allsup.  Additional entertainers will be Floyd Domino and The All Stars, Red Steagall, Ginny Mac, Pete Laumbach, R, J, Vandygriff, Chuck Cusimano, plus many more great entertainers. Sometimes there is a surprise guest to join forces to get the crowd swingin' to the liveliest music west of the Mississippi!
