5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. – Fishing at Bonito Lake. The hours for fishing are 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.  A valid NM fishing license is required with a Trout validation stamp.  

6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. – Fishing at Grindstone Lake from sunrise to 10:00 p.m. from the shore, and from a boat if you have a permit from Village of Ruidoso Parks and Recreation, located at the corner of Resort and Grindstone Drives. No swimming, wading or dogs wading permitted in Grindstone Lake. Fishing is free, if you have a fishing license.

7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Golf at Cree Meadows Golf and Country Club on Country Club Drive. Whether you are looking for a golf course to play while visiting Ruidoso, or a golf course to call home as a member, you have found it!   Our 18-hole, regulation golf course continues to be a favorite among local golfers. 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. –  Golf at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Championship Golf Course. Take to the links on one of the most spectacular courses in the country. Nestled amongst tall pine trees under the majestic Sierra Blanca Peak is the impressive Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort Championship Golf Course. The golf shop is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and guests can call (575) 464-7941 for tee times. Green fees start at $75 weekdays and $95 weekends, and discounts are available for seniors, military personnel and juniors. 

7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. – Fishing at Lake Mescalero. You can fish right at the Inn on beautiful Lake Mescalero. We stock the Lake with nearly 20,000 every year! And we even offer fishing equipment rental if you choose to leave your tackle box and pole at home! Just purchase a special day license at the Boat Docks' office or the fitness center located on the second floor of the Inn of the Mountain Gods. $18 per day, per rod. 6-inch minimum fish, limit of 6 fish per day. 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. – Boat Rentals at Lake Mescalero behind the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino. From 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. rent a kayak, rowboat, single bike, double bike, paddle boat or 4-person paddle boat to cruise around on Lake Mescalero for from $20 to $30 per hour. 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. – Helen Hinch Memorial Park and Bird Sanctuary, East of Capitan on Highway 380. Open during daylight hours. Bird Sanctuary is operated by the Lincoln County Bird Club.

7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Wilderness Camp at Ruidoso Parks & Recreation, 801 Resort Drive, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Back to Basics, Back to Nature.  Horseback Riding, Fishing, Canoeing, Hiking, Biking, Nature Walks, Nature Crafts, Swimming, Other Outdoor Fun & Sports! Youth entering K – 6th Grades in the Fall of 2009. Weekly and Daily Rates Available—Out of Town Visitors Welcomed. Cost: $95 per week or $32 per day for 1st Child. $85 per week or $30 per day for additional children (within the same family). Daily Sign Ups must be made three work days in advance.  

8:00 a.m. - Pool and Shuffleboard at the Ruidoso Senior Center on Sudderth near First National Bank.

8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Lincoln Historic Monument open in Lincoln. Buildings and displays include the Anderson-Freeman Visitor's Center, Montano Store, Torreon, Jan Juan Mission, Tunstall Store, Dr. Wood's House, and the Lincoln Courthouse Museum. Admission is $5 per person, $1 for Seniors Group (10), 16 and younger admitted free. New Mexico residents admitted free on Sunday. New Mexico Seniors admitted free on Wednesday. 

9:00 a.m. – Line Dancing at the Ruidoso Downs Senior Center in All American Park.

9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Peace Village-Ruidoso at the High Mesa Healing Center, 101 Mader Lane, Alto, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It's time for the 7th annual Peace Village at High Mesa Healing Center. Peace Village is an annual summer camp for children 7-13 years of age. Curriculum includes Non-Violent Conflict Resolution, Media Literacy, Envision Your Future, Earth Awareness, music, games, forest walks, storytelling and an off-campus day at Angus Outdoor Education where childred will experience exciting activities.  The cost per child is $90 and enrollment is limited to 40 children. 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – 1 and 2 Hour Guided Trail Rides in the Lincoln National Forest with Cowboys Riding Stables in Ruidoso Downs. Whether you are riding the scenic trails in the beautiful Lincoln National Forest or sitting on our deck enjoying our wonderful New Mexico weather, we strive to make our stables a clean and comfortable place for your family. Most of the people who come to our stables have never ridden before. This is no problem, our horses are extremely gentle. Before each ride we make sure that everyone receives a short lesson on riding basics and answer any questions.  We also have helmets available at no extra cost. Young children (ages 2-4) can ride double with their parents at no charge.  We do no take children younger than 2.  With children who are too big to ride with their parents, my guide can lead their horse and they can have the experience of riding alone but not having to guide the horse. 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – The Clovis Sound:  New Mexico's Connection to The Birth of Rock & Roll at the Hubbard Museum of the American West in Ruidoso Downs. The story of the renowned recording studio in Clovis, NM and those who made history there, including Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison.  The exhibit will run May 29 through August 29. 

9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music at the Hubbard Museum of the American West in Ruidoso Downs.  Ruidoso Downs is one of six communities that will host the exhibition, which is made available through the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street traveling exhibition program.  It is sponsored in New Mexico by the New Mexico Humanities Council.  The exhibition features artifacts, photographs, interactive, and sound recordings related to the history of music in the United States.  Ranging from sacred music to blues to the folk revival, the history of American roots music is revealed and explored. The Hubbard Museum of the American West is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission to the Museum is $6.00 for adults, and reduced admission is available for senior citizens, military personnel, and youth.

9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Ancient New Mexico Exhibit at at the Hubbard Museum of the American West in Ruidoso Downs An In-depth exhibit of the peoples that inhabited the southwest from pre-historical periods up to the Spanish exploration. Runs through October 2010.

9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Smokey Bear Park is open in Capitan. The Smokey Bear Historical Park is located on highway 380 (better known as 118 Smokey Bear Blvd.) in the heart of the Village of Capitan and is open everyday of the year except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years day. Entrance fees into the park are $2.00 for adults, $1.00 for children 7-12.  Children 6 and under are free.  Smokey Bear Historical Park is operated by EMNRD-Forestry Division.

10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. – Pre-School Reading Program at the Ruidoso Public Library from 10:00-11:30 a.m. End of Summer Reading Party—Grand Prize winners of each age group will be announced.

10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Pony Rides and Train Rides at the D-Lazy-2 on Sudderth at Two Rivers Park. Pony Rides are $6 for 5 minutes, Trackless Train are also $6. Ice Cream, Roasted corn, drinks and snacks available at the Concession Stand.

10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. - Pillows Funtracker at 101 Carrizo Canyon Road is open every day. The facility includes 3 different age appropriate Go Kart Tracks, an  18 Hole Miniature Golf Course, the Bumper Boat Lagoon, the Giant Mountain Maze, a four person Climbing Wall, a Huge Game Room and much more.

10:00 a.m.  - Sacramento Mountain Village Yoga at the Church of the Holy Mountain at 121 Mescalero Trail at 10:00 a.m. Sacramento Mountain Village is a cooperative effort to address the needs of its members -- people helping people, serving seniors of the Ruidoso, Ruidoso Downs and Alto.  It is dedicated to helping its members stay in their own homes as they age by helping them meet simple physical, mental and emotional needs.

10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Ruidoso River Museum open at 101 Mechem Drive in the building which previously housed Rush Ski Shop. The museum will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday through Monday.  The museum will be open 7-days a week now during the Christmas Holidays.  Admission is $5 for Adults and $2 for Children. 

10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - The "Creative Gourd" Art Show  at the Ruidoso Regional Council for the Arts, 1712 Sudderth, across from Domino's Pizza, and next to Compass Bank,  Show runs through August 15, Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Saturdays 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., and Sundays 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.  More Info: RRCA: 575-257-7272

10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Fort Stanton Museum and Gift Shop open to the public You can see the historic buildings, picnic on the grounds and enjoy the day at Fort Stanton. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Bicycle Rental at Boneshaker Cyclery at 2312 Sudderth in mid-town Ruidoso. Rent Mountain bikes, Road bikes, Kids bikes. All rentals come with a Helmet, Fresh Bottle of Water, Frame Pump and a Seat Pack with a Tube, Tire Levers and a Muti-Tool. All the things to Get you on the Trail and Keep you Riding' safe. 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Horseback Riding at Alto Hombre Gordito Hideout. Horse stables and guided horseback riding into the Lincoln National Forest. This season trails are open for ATV, jeep, 4 wheel, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. ATV trail descriptions map is $15, and $5 for extra copies of trails. 

10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Disc Golf Rental at Boneshaker Cyclery at 2312 Sudderth in mid-town Ruidoso. Rent the discs from Boneshaker Cyclery and play a round of disc golf for free at the Ruidoso Village Disc Golf Course at Grindstone and Resort Drive. Call 575-257-6784.

10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - The Carrizozo Heritage Museum at 103 12th Street is open for regular season hours, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

11:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. - Simulcast Horse Racing at Billy the Kid's Race Book at Ruidoso Downs Race Track & Casino.  

11:45 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. – Swimming at the Municipal Swimming Pool on Sudderth Drive. Hours are 11:45 a.m.- 4:45 p.m., 7 days a week, now through August 6th. 3:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. – Community Youth Center Warehouse is open from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesdays, Thursday and Friday and Saturdays from 3:00 to 10:30 p.m.  All community youth in 7^th through 12^th grades are encouraged to come and enjoy the new center located on Church Street directly behind Cornerstone Bakery and Ferguson Plumbing. 5:30 p.m. - Flying J Ranch Chuckwagon Supper and Show. On Highway 48, North of Ruidoso. This Chuckwagon Supper & Western Stage Show is open Mon-Sat nights, tonight through Labor Day. 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. - Tomas Vigil performs at Landlocked Restaurant on Mechem Drive from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

7:00 p.m. - Tommy Allsup: Stories and Music at the Hubbard Museum of the American West, Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m., Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Grammy award winning musician, Tommy Allsup, recorded at the Norm Petty studio in Clovis with Buddy Holly, Wayland Jennings and others. He still performs today with the Texas Playboys of Bob Wills fame. He will perform his music and tell stories of the musicians he has worked with over the years. Tickets are $20 for non-members, $15 for members.

7:00 p.m. - The Staerkel Master Musicians perform at Mountain Annie’s Dinner Theater every Friday and Saturday night through October 16. $32.50 for adults (includes dinner, the show, tax and gratuity), $12.00 for ages 7-12, and under 6 are free. Young children and infants are welcome at the dinner shows, or, to let the parents or grandparents catch a break and watch the featured entertainment, the children may play in a specially designed and well-supervised upstairs playhouse area.
